Family Portrait Session, Tacoma, Washington - 9/20/08

Originally, we planned for a nice outdoor fall family portrait session at a local park in Tacoma, Washington, however, the weather did not cooperate that day so the family portrait session was moved indoors to Peggy’s newly redecorated townhouse in downtown Tacoma. With limited room to work, I set up my lights and went to work. We had a great time and a big thanks to Peggy and her family for making it a joy to work with.
The following are select portraits from the session.

Kirstie - High School Senior Yearbook Portrait, Sumner, Washington
October 15, 2008 | Filed Under People | Leave a Comment
Kirstie of Bonney Lake, Washington had a deadline to meet. She had to submit a senior portrait for her high school year book (Class of 2009) by today. Late last week, we met in downtown Sumner after school and had a great portrait session with Kirstie.
Most of the images were taken with submitting to the yearbook in mind (not a full senior portrait session). The senior portrait of Kirstie shown above was the one chosen for the yearbook. I’ll be posting a few more of the images from the session in the near future.
Thank you Kirstie for being such a wonderful sport on a not so warm autumn afternoon.

On Labor Day, we had a portrait session with the Curnow family on the beach at Browns Point, near Tacoma, Washington. We were blessed as the clouds parted and the warm evening sun appeared just in time. My wife Martha and I had a great time photographing the family. Here are a few select images from the portrait session.

There was a great turnout of Janet’s family and friends. Here are a few of the photos from the event. March 18, 2008 | Filed Under People | Leave a Comment I would like to thank the Crain family for a fun photo shoot last Sunday. The children braved windy and cold (and luckily dry) weather for enough time to get some great photographs of the boys. The location for this photo shoot was Bradley Lake Park on south hill of Puyallup, Washington. I included a couple of photos for you to see. March 5, 2008 | Filed Under People | Leave a Comment

Photo: Cell Phone in Hand

This was a photograph I took of a friend holding his cell phone. I set the shutter speed on my Nikon D80 to its maximum sync speed of 1/200 and the aperture to F20 to block out the ambient light. ISO was set at 200. I then set up a snooted SB800 on a light stand at a 45 degree angle on camera left and set it at 1/8 power.
