There is a certain hush that settles over the Pacific Northwest in December. The days are short. The air is damp and cool. Most mornings, I wake to a soft mist along the river and the gentle sound of rain in the trees. It is a quiet that asks you to slow down and pay attention.
This time of year, I find myself looking back on the simple moments that have shaped the past twelve months. A walk along a muddy trail. The way light moves across a field at dusk. The comfort of a familiar view outside my window. These are the scenes that stay with me, long after the camera is put away.
I am grateful for the chance to share these moments with others. Each photograph is a small invitation to pause and notice what is right in front of us. I am especially thankful for those who have supported my work this year. Some have added a print to their home. Others have sent a kind note or taken a few minutes to look through my gallery. Every gesture, no matter how small, has meant a great deal to me.
In a world that rarely slows down, I am reminded of the value of quiet. There is something restorative about stepping outside, breathing in the cold air, and letting the landscape speak for itself. I hope that my photographs offer a bit of that calm to those who see them.
As we move into a new year, I wish you moments of peace and clarity. May you find comfort in the simple things and inspiration in the world around you. Thank you for being here, for your support, and for sharing in this journey.
With gratitude,
Steve
